Design Challenge Report: Libby for OverDrive
In this special topics and interdisciplinary UX course, each team of students was partnered with a local institution within the GLAM sector to assist them in tackling a UX-related project. Our team partnered with the Theatre Museum of Canada (TMC). Having operated primarily virtually until now, the TMC recently acquired its first physical location in Toronto's Entertainment District. In designing the space, the Museum was interested in prototyping an interactive digital wall which would greet visitors as they arrived on site. Our team was tasking with visioning, researching and prototyping this digital interactive experience. If the TMC does go forward with installing an interactive digital wall, they would be the first museum in Toronto to have an interactive of such a large scale.

For the final assignment in this introductory UX course, we were tasked with designing a medium-fidelity prototype of a mobile app. On a team with my classmates Annie, Erin and Haya, we designed an application called Beezbooz, which means "waste" in Hebrew.
We found ourselves all too often forgetting to carry reusable mugs, or not even owning one to begin with. Many people are aware of the vast amounts of waste we produce as a society, but are unsure of how to reduce their individual impact. Furthermore, they often lack the tools and the motivation to help shift their habits.
The Challenge: How can we incentivize sustainable habits? How can we change apathy into action? Consider how technology might be used to strengthen the social fabric.
